We Offer Production Neutral Hardening Services

Neutral Hardening is utilized to through-harden medium and high carbon and alloy steels. Oil quenching is utilized for this process. Typical steel grades requiring Neutral hardening are 1045, 4140 and 6150 although many other grades also qualify. Precision’s computerized furnace controls ensure appropriate processing, including prevention of carburizing or decarburizing of the steel. Closely controlled temperature in our tempering furnaces ensures that final hardness specification is achieved.
